Charles F. Broome, Bayley’s steal show

TWO SCHOOLS with rich athletic traditions covered themselves in glory in the Patsy Callender Zone of Pine Hill Dairy National Primary Schools Athletic Championships yesterday.

Charles F. Broome, four-time overall boys champions and twice winners among the girls, and Bayley’s Primary, three-time girls champions and kings among the boys on two occasions, won the girls’ and boys’ titles by huge margins at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.

Charles F. Broome girls totalled 234 points – 100.5 more than 2016 champions West Terrace Primary, who had to settle for the second place spot with 133.5 points. Crossing the finish line third was the Wesley Hall with 111 points.

Bayley’s boys grabbed the Patsy Callender Zone for the first time with 209 points, 66 more than their nearest rivals.  Following was Milton Lynch Primary with 143 points while third again went to Wesley Hall with 130 points. (RG)
