LEROY WALTON and his wife said they feel like prisoners in their own home.
The pair live in Bloomsbury, St Thomas, and are afraid to leave home for too long. They place the blame for this on a contractor as well as on the Royal Barbados Police Force, saying the latter mishandled their case.
It began in 2015 when they hired a carpenter to put a roof on an extension they were making on their home. Walton wished to leave his wife out of the story so only he will be named.
“I paid him $1 000 in advance then another $1 225 but the job had stalled as we had to reposition our electric meter. Afterwards, he said he could also put in the railings and doors so we gave him a cheque for $4 500,” he said. (CA)
