Comissiong to challenge decision on Hyatt

POLITICAL ACTIVIST David Comissiong will be legally challenging Government’s decision to approve construction of the new Hyatt hotel just outside Bridgetown.

Comissiong, leader of the People’s Empowerment Party (PEP), said he will be going to the Supreme Court to have Prime Minister Freundel Stuart’s permission set aside.

The permission was granted last month, and Comissiong expects to file his suit sometime this month.

“I am definitely going to ask the Supreme Court of Barbados to carry out a judicial review to grant Mark Maloney’s company permission to build a 15-storey hotel on Bay Street,” he confirmed. (BA)
