Frederick Smith Eagles still soaring

THE INCLEMENT WEATHER and a late start did not stop Red Eagles from dominating the field at Frederick Smith Secondary School sports.

The three-time champions retained their title last Friday at the St James school grounds after finishing with a total of 866 points. Second place went to Yellow Tigers with 758.5 points, followed by Green Hornets (646.5) and Blue Panthers on 589 points.

Due to the intermittent showers, some athletes had to leave before the end of the day’s events and, as a result, no house had a full complement of athletes in the 4 x 100 metres relays. Nevertheless, Red House dominated the events to once again capture the boys’ and girls’ divisions with 390.5 and 475.5 points, respectively.

There were interesting races in the Under-15 Boys’, and the Under-17 and Under-20 Girls’ relays, as they were run simultaneously. In the Under-15 Boys’ relay, Blue were the lone entrants. Similarly, in the Under-20 Girls’, Red stood alone on the field. (RA)
