MANY BARBADIANS, some in the prime of their lives, are pre-planning their funeral arrangements – from final resting places to the clothes they want to be buried in and the hymns to be sung.

Church leaders and funeral directors said that while this was nothing new, they were witnessing increasing numbers make early arrangements, even going as far as taking out loans in the knowledge that death not only causes grief, but also financial issues.

Investing in a burial plot seems to be high on the death checklist.

Peter Griffith, managing director of two private burial grounds, told the SUNDAY SUN that people were snapping up plots at Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens, Christ Church, and Mount Pleasant, St Peter, for themselves and their families. (MB)
