THE NATIONAL ASSISTANCE Board (NAB) has removed 74-year-old Lionel Inniss from the ruins he occupied at Fustic Village, St Lucy.

Chairman of the NAB Dr David Durant said officials visited the house this morning and took Inniss when they saw the “very bad situation” in which he was living.

He said the elderly man would be taken for a medical check and then transferred to the Geriatric Hospital.

“We are working on it right now… we hope to have him at the Geriatric Hospital by today or tomorrow,” Durant said.

Inniss’ dilapidated house collapsed over a week ago while he was in hospital.  (LK)
