Jordan lays out facts on athletes

NOT SO FAST, Gabriel.

The Athletics Association of Barbados (AAB) supports all athletes – professional or otherwise.

AAB president Catherine Jordan has wasted no time rejecting her challenger Gabriel Burnett’s claims that the association does little to fund and assist Barbados’ best amateur and pro athletes.

Jordan made the comments in a written release to SUNSPORT ahead of local track and field’s long-awaited March 28 general elections.

“The BOA [Barbados Olympic Association], upon the AAB’s endorsement, through the Pan American Sports Organisation (PASO) disbursed funds to athletes, which totalled $206 000 in 2016. . .
