AS HIS TIME in office winds down, Governor General Sir Elliot Belgrave has made the St Winifred’s School one of his final stops.

Sir Elliot, 86, made the short trip across to the Pine Hill, St Michael, school as a part of his country wide school visits.

Just before 10 a.m., the Governor General was greeted by children from the primary school who stood at the school’s gates, anxiously awaiting his arrival.

Following a few short opening speeches and a welcome message from principal Kim Lewis, Sir Elliot was treated to a recorder, violin and piano rendition of his favourite song, The Ash Grove.

Also on the entertainment package was a play entitled, The Real Story of the Three Little Pigs and the school choir gave a rendition of the official song for the 50th Anniversary of Barbados’ Independence, Legends to Legacy.

Sir Elliott has indicated he will be demitting office in June. (AD)
