“Sammy” captured by police

A MAN WHO WAS on the police wanted list for almost a month, was held in a St Michael community on Saturday.

Shamar Renaldo Welch, alias “Sammy”, 28 years, of Rochester Road, Grazettes, St Michael, was the subject of a wanted man bulletin issued last month.

He was apprehended by police today at Yearwood Land, Black Rock, and is currently assisting with investigations.

Meanwhile, police also issued a fresh appeal for assistance in locating Sharaz Obrian Patel.

The last known address of the 30-year-old, who goes by the alias Dappa, is Upper Wavell Avenue, Black Rock, St Michael.

sharaz-patelPatel is about 5’3” in height and slimly built with a brown complexion. He has an average-sized nose and lips, brown eyes and a low haircut.

He also has a tattoo on his left forearm with the words “Out Law”. Patel is considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached by the public.

Patel is advised he can present himself to the Black Rock Police Station accompanied by an attorney-at-law of his choice.

Any person who may know the whereabouts of Sharaz Obrian Patel, alias Dappa, is asked to contact the Black Rock Police Station at 4177500 or 4177505, Police Emergency at telephone number 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station.

The public is reminded that it is a serious offence to harbour or assist wanted persons; any person caught committing this offence can be prosecuted. (PR/SAT)
