A FINAL DETERMINATION on if anyone will be charged in the death of pensioner Verona Gibson should come sometime this week.

Gibson was attacked by a number of dogs, some of them pit bulls, in the early hours of January 28 in the area of Haggatt Hall, a mere yards from the St Barnabas Church, where she was heading to clean early that morning.

Since then, there had been a mix-up with where the case file resided, with acting Assistant Commissioner of Police, Lybron Sobers revealing the file had been sent from his office on March 17 to Director of Public Prosecutions, Charles Leacock, QC.

The file was sent to Leacock for his expert advice on the investigation, but last week the DPP denied that the file had reached his office.
