THERE IS A new president in town and he is on a mission to “make bodybuilding great again”.
Manasseh King, president of the Barbados Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (BABFF), made this clear yesterday during the executive’s first press conference since being elected on March 29.
“We have admitted two new gyms to the organisation, and I am in discussion with a third gym to be added,” he said at the Collymore Rock headquarters of sponsor Co-operators General Insurance.
“We would have witnessed over the years a decline in bodybuilding. We recognise over the years that the small gyms were the bedrock for developing bodybuilding in Barbados. You would observe that every one of the small gyms in Barbados has rejoined the federation over the last 18 months.”
