THE RESULTS of the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT) elections are expected to be announced today.

Voting at four polling stations occurred yesterday for the posts of general secretary, deputy general secretary, public relations officer as well as six floor members.

BUT returning officer Richmark Cave told the WEKEND NATION that around 4 p.m. yesterday, over 200 votes had been counted at the BUT headquarters in Merry Hill, Welches, St Michael, and the West Terrace Primary School, Deighton Griffith and Princess Margaret secondary schools’ polling stations.

He explained that the positions of president, vice-president and treasurer were not on the ballots as those positions were unopposed.
