THE BRIDGETOWN BRANCH of the Democratic Labour Party came out as one to support its newest candidate this evening.

It was standing room only at the Wesley Hall Junior School on the outskirts of the City, as new candidate Henderson Williams presented his case for the first time to members. henderson-williams

Williams, a former student of the school, told members he was humbled to have been chosen by the party’s general council, noting that God had been preparing for public life.

On a day when 31 new members were also inducted into the DLP and presented with Dems “passports” Williams first thanked ousted former candidate Patrick Todd for being a great supporter so far.

A hometown boy who cut his professional teeth in the Credit Union movement, Williams told those on hand he had been apprehensive about the support he would have received, but said there had been nothing but a positive vibe from constituents and branch members since he was named as the new candidate.
