‘Mixed’ on roofless Stadium

SOMETHING IS BETTER than nothing.

This was the general opinion of those within the sporting fraternity regarding  Minister of Sports Stephen Lashley’s revelation last week that the stands at the National Stadium could soon be in operation without roofs following a comprehensive revaluation.

It has been two years since the stands at the Waterford complex were condemned. While activities continue to be held at the location, spectators have had to resort to sitting in tents erected on the Randolph Field Velodrome.

According to chairman of the National Primary Schools Athletics’ Championships (NAPSAC), Richmark Cave, his only concern was that of safety.
