THE PUNISHING bat of Jordan Reifer and the penetrative pace of the quartet of fast bowlers proved too powerful for the RBC Royal Bank St Philip Juniors who were demolished by Franklyn Stephenson Academy in a one-sided final of the Barbados Cricket Supplies Under-13 Tournament at Queen’s Park yesterday.

Thirteen-year-old Reifer, saving his best for his last innings in the tournament, slammed a fluent 95 to pilot Franklyn Stephenson Academy to a challenging 214 for four off 35 overs before pacers – captain Malik Young, Che Simmons, Jaden Leacock and Johann Layne – combined to topple St Philip Juniors for a paltry 59 in just 15.1 overs to win by 155 runs.

Franklyn Stephenson Academy, runners-up in last year’s final, won the toss and elected to bat in excellent conditions before an excited crowd that offered vociferous support to both teams. (WH)
