Young love’s labour lost

ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, this year’s musical production from Operation Triple Threat, is another brilliant display of young talent in Barbados.

While the entire cast was good, Anna Greenidge (Erzulie), Shadé Jacques (Ti Moune) and Toni McIntosh (Asaka) were outstanding, bringing their characters to life through their singing, acting and dancing. It is hard to forget their performance even if the words are forgotten.

The interest they have in the arts was visible and it would be really good if they, along with Chad Montplaisir (Agwe), Mary Walker (Mama Euralie), Ammunikée Gomez (Papa Ge), Joshua Jones (Armand), Sarah Edwards (Andrea Devereaux), Jon-Mykul Bowen (Tonton Julian) and Philip Holder (Daniel Beauxhomme), all continue in the arts.

They deserve much applause for the performances on Friday night, the first show of this year’s production held at Frank Collymore Hall.
