ENTERTAINER Michael “Mikey” Mercer is known for his stamina when he is on stage, but he can now boast of being one of the strongest men in Barbados.
Representing the Bassa Bassa Gym, the 285-pound Mikey muscled his way to the strong man title in the inaugural Strong Fest event at the Valley Fitness Gym in St George on Sunday evening.
He won from a formidable field that included three-time Mr Barbados bodybuilding champion, Stevenson Belle, as he squatted the highest weight of 515 pounds, while also showcasing his strength in the bench press, dead lift, tyre flips and sled push categories.
