Well of worries

A DOG TRAPPED in a well on Sunday night has unearthed fears by road users about an unsecured Barbados Water Authority (BWA) work area in Greens, St George.

Chief inspector with the RSPCA, Wayne Norville, was eventually able to rescue the injured canine, but only after some tricky manoeuvring around a dangerous electrical pump deep in the shaft.

The discovery of the pump also added to the degree of danger and raised questions about why the area was not better secured considering the type of equipment there.

On Facebook, Norville posted the dog’s rescue from the near 20-foot-deep hole in the presence of the Barbados Fire Service, pointing out that the BWA well was allowed to remain uncovered and there was no certainty about the voltage inside it.
