UWI ‘terrorists’ warned

SOME BUSINESSES IN Barbados are being “terrorised” by University of the West Indies graduates, a business leader contends.

The charge was made yesterday by executive director of the Barbados Manufacturers’ Association (BMA), Bobbi McKay, who warned university graduates that their qualifications did not entitle them to high-paying entry level employment.

This misconception, she said, led some to act like “young terrorists” on the job hunt.

McKay said there had been a change in how university-educated job seekers approached the market and called for the engagement of relevant parties, the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU) included. (SDB Media)
