Sea of purple for ICBL Walk/Run

HUNDREDS TURNED OUT for the annual ICBL Family Fun 5K/10K Walk and Run earlier today.

Babies in prams, the differently-abled, casual walkers, family groups, friends and children took off clad in purple for the trek in and around The City.

Among the competitive runners, Joshua Hunte won the men’s 10K in 34 minutes 46.09 seconds from Oein Josiah (35:35:65) and Shamel Maynard (35:52.15).

Carlie Pipe won the women’s race in 47:30.07, followed home by Sonia Adamson and Charmaine Seale in 52:00.47 and 57:12.15, respectively.

Rudolph Rock was the pick of those over the shorter distance, completing the 5K circuit in 19 minutes 23.44 seconds. Adande Browne was second in 19:36.91 and Daemon Dawson third in 19:42.79.

With a time of 21 minutes 33.23 seconds, Nadine Singh took first place in the women’s 5K. Rean Gibson was secondin 23:09.76 and Jennifer Wosminty third in 23:26.76. (SAT)
