Shirley Stewart starts off Vintage night

IT TOOK 40 YEARS for Shirley Stewart and The Escorts International to play again and they fittingly did so on the Digicel Vintage Reggae stage at Kensington Oval tonight.

The six-member band was the first Bajan act on stage as deejays got the growing crowd warmed up.

While the grounds had lots of elbow room, the 3Ws Stand was packed.

The night had an air of nostalgia as music from the 1960s and 1970s was played in the first innings, while well-dressed couples rocked to the vibes.

Acts still to grace the stage were Pluto Shervington, Flourgon, Little John, Eric Donaldson, Marcia Griffith, Pinchers and Glen Washington. (NS)
