No time to be ‘complacent’

DO NOT GET COMPLACENT! Opposition Leader Mia Mottley sounded that caution to the thousands of Barbados Labour Party (BLP) supporters who turned out for the party’s annual National Heroes Day picnic yesterday.

Before the thousands who flocked to the Ermie Bourne Highway, East Coast Road, St Andrew, Mottley said a BLP victory would only be assured when the party was announced as the winners of the next general election.

“The only win we have here today is the wind in our sail. We will not have a win until the electoral officers on the night of elections say it is a win.

“I ask you therefore until such time, do not be deluded by the numbers [and] do not be deluded by our good feelings. These things are important to give you courage to move to tomorrow, but they do not represent the mission [and] they do not represent victory,” Mottley said to loud applause. (RB)
