Highs and lows of Vintage

IT WAS A NIGHT when Murphy’s Law kicked in at the 2017 Digicel Barbados Reggae Festival Vintage Show Friday night: anything that could go wrong did.

It was a power failure, according to co-emcee Admiral Nelson, that destroyed the mixer board and halted the performance of Jamaican artiste Flourgon as he rode the dance hall riddims.

It was five minutes into his act that the problem first surfaced and after about six minutes of dance hall energy, the sound of his vocals and that of the band went south around 11:45.

Surprisingly Flourgon seemed not aware of it and continued performing for some time.
