A FIFTH-PLACE finish in the first Barbados Surf Pro World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) 3 000 was just what the doctor orderedĀ for Chelsea Roett.

The result at the Drill Hall Beach catapulted Roett 36 spots up the ladder into the top 50. She is now ranked a personal best international ranking of 42nd on the World Surf League Womenā€™s Qualifying Series.

ā€œI was really happy to have made it to the quarter-finals (in the Barbados Surf Pro) and even happier to have cracked into the top 50 in the World Surf League, Womenā€™s Qualifying Series,ā€ she said.

Roett said the level of competition and quality of surfers meant she had to step up her game. (HLE)
