Time to kick back, relax

AND NOW THE WAIT begins.

After yesterday’s Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Exam, commonly called the 11-Plus, more than 3 000 young ones began the nerve-wracking interval before the results are known in another month or so.

They celebrated clearing the first hurdle with outings to restaurants, sports bars, hotels, the beach and other places of entertainment. One parent at Coleridge and Parry School in St Peter presented the pupils there with cupcakes after the exam.

A tour of some of the 22 secondary schools set up as examination centres for the 3 330 students taking the test, turned up generally satisfied parents, guardians, teachers and students. (AC/BGIS)
