Trinidad new gymnastics champions

GYMNASTS FROM Trinidad and Tobago starred at the Barbados Gymnastics Invitational hosted by the Barbados Amateur Gymnastics Association last weekend.

Sophia Celine Roach of Tots and Tumblers Gymnastic Club captured the gold medal with a whopping 38.550, recording a score of 9.650 both in the vault and beam, and 9.700 in the bars.

Her teammate Emma Nieves captured the silver medal with a score of 38.050, recording scores of 9.550 in the vault and 9.650 in the bars.

Mya Baptiste, of Olympia Gymnastic Club, took bronze, securing an overall score of 37.950 and ending her events of the vault, floor and beam with scores of 9.600 and 9.750, respectively. (RA)
