ROAD USERS in St Thomas had to ease their way around a fallen tree and utility pole just outside Ayshford Great House yesterday.
During the early morning the pole snapped and fell, with its lines snagging an ageing mile tree on the other side of Ayshford Main Road. As a result, the tree came crashing down, spreading across the road leaving barely enough room for some vehicles to pass under.
The Barbados Light & Power pole ended up in the road, but a crew from the company promptly responded to head off any long-term inconvenience to its customers.
However, drivers still had to put up with the inconvenience of having to wait for the obstacles to be cleared to give them enough room to pass. (AC)
