OPPOSITION MEMBER of Parliament Trevor Prescod has sounded a warning to those pushing for Barbadians to be far more productive.
And he is also sending a strong message to proponents of job cuts as one of the measures to help fix the state of the economy.
Addressing the launch of the Friendship Youth and Sports Club yesterday at the Harold Nurse Resource Centre, Hothersal Turning, St Michael, he said those solutions would not work if opportunities were not created for the youth to better themselves.
“No young man is going to give of his all and his best if after producing, he does not see the appropriate and relevant rewards for the blood, sweat and tears and the energy he puts into productive sector of this country. So we’re not working on plantations unless we get rewards for working on plantations,” said Prescod, the MP for St Michael East. (WILLCOMM)
