PRINCIPAL OF COMBERMERE Vere Parris is standing behind a student who brought his father’s gun magazine to school yesterday.

Police said they received a report around 11:25 a.m. that a 14-year-old student at the Waterford, St Michael school had the magazine, the part of the gun which stores the bullets.

The boy was subsequently interviewed by lawmen.

Parris, speaking to the DAILY NATION, said the student first claimed that he found the item while he was on his way to school, noting that the magazine was not illegal. He however said that story later changed. (TG)
