Heat this time of year ‘the norm’

FEELING HOT, HOT, HOT? No worries, it’s nothing to fear.

Officials from the Meteorological Department have confirmed that temperatures for this time of the year are in line with the average for pre-summer levels, but that a high-pressure ridge in the Central Atlantic is reducing the effect of the north-east trade winds and making it seem warmer.

But things should start to get a little cooler this week, as a wave which was affecting Barbados continues to move westward, away from the island.

“This is not unseasonable weather for this time of the year in Barbados,” senior meteorologist at the Barbados Meteorological Service, Rosalind Blenman, told the SUNDAY SUN(BA)
