Empire back in Premier League

EMPIRE HAVE BEEN crowned this year’s Barbados Football Association Division One champions after blanking Sunrise FC 7-0 Thursday night.

The “Mighty Blues” netted two goals during the first half of the match at Passage Road, and secured the other five in a thrilling second half against a nine-man Sunrise team.

Empire midfielder Xavier Duncan was undisputedly the man of the match, leading his team to victory by scoring a beaver-trick.

After being relegated at the end of last season, Empire are now back in the Premier League after securing three points to finish top of the pack. (RA)
