JAQUONE HOYTE was fantastic in the fast lane at the National Stadium on Saturday night.
The 19-year-old CARIFTA Games silver medallist sped to a sizzling 10.38 seconds to bring the curtain down on the opening day of the Athletics Association of Barbados’ May Classic.
It was also the same time the loose-limbed Velocity Management athlete did at the National Junior Championships, again firmly booking his flight to the July 21-23 Pan American Junior Games in Peru.
Matthew Clarke ran his best 100 metres of the season, logging a personal best 10.56, just outside the 10.50 requirement for Pan Am Juniors to be second. The experienced Fallon Forde (10.66) finished ahead of Kentoine Browne (10.80) to take third place. (EZS)
