REGULAR PARTNERS, and sponsorship may be down, but not even that, compounded by a slight power outage could darken the spirits of the hoards of excited people, including schoolchildren, who turned out for the opening of the annual Barbados Manufacturers’ Exhibition (BMEX).

It was a hive of activity as hundreds walked through the doors of the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, in Two Mile Hill to capture some of the offerings yesterday morning.

Minister of Industry Donville Inniss officially opened BMEX after a brief ceremony, and during his address he lauded the Barbados Manufacturers’ Association (BMA) for being a “true partner of industry and commerce” in Barbados.

He said its staging of BMEX annually in spite of challenging times was a testament of their passion to be the conduit by which local innovative ideas, creativity, ingenious products are within the reach of all Barbadians and visitors. (SDB Media)
