Babb’s blows put out Spartan

A MATCH-WINNING half-century from Larry Babb led Police into the quarter-finals of the Sagicor General Twenty20 Competition when they defeated Massy Stores Spartan by five wickets.

Electing to bat, Spartan posted a total of 146 for four in 20 overs but Police easily reached 147 for four in 18.2 overs.

Babb smashed seven sixes and a four in a knock of 61 from 28 balls, with support from Roger Williams (35 not out). Stefon King and Chad Williams took two wickets each.

Earlier, Shamarh Brooks starred in his first match of the season, scoring 86 from 50 balls as he added 135 for the third wicket with Joshua Drakes, who made 52. (AH)
