A ST JAMES man accused of killing his drinking buddy was granted bail after appearing in court yesterday.

Colin Marlon Franklyn, 49, of Sion Hill Tenantry Road, has been charged with manslaughter in relation to the death of 59-year-old Anderson Watson of the same address.

Police say the two men were drinking together on May 25 and became involved in a verbal dispute.

Franklyn allegedly pushed Watson, causing him to fall and strike his head.

Watson was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital the next day but he died later that day.

Franklyn appeared before Magistrate Wanda Blair in the Holetown Magistrates Court and was granted bail of $10 000 with one surety.

He is expected to reappear in court on September 29. In the meantime, he must report to Holetown Police Station every Monday and Friday by 9 a.m. (NB)
