More lashes for levy
ADD THE VOICE of the director general of the Barbados Consumers Research Organisation Inc. to those who are opposing the increased National Social Responsibility Levy.
In about two weeks, on July 1, consumers will be paying a levy of ten per cent on goods and services.
But the measure introduced by Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler in the last Budget is not going down well with Malcolm Gibbs-Taitt who has blasted Government for essentially punishing consumers.
He was responding to comments made by economist Jeremy Stephen, who spoke at a special meeting held by the Alexandra Old Scholars Association at Solidarity House on Saturday. (AD)
