Williams up front in cancer fight

ONE OF THE MOST public faces of colon cancer in Barbados has joined the fight against the often deadly condition.

Antoine Williams, a well known actor of “Brudda Daddy” fame and emcee, recently confirmed he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. However, he underwent surgery last month which he described as “successful”.

Williams said yesterday his attention had now turned to helping others detect the illness early.

In this connection, he has joined forces with surgeon Dr Sahle Griffith of Surgical Solutions to encourage Barbadians to know more about this form of cancer and to explore the screening options available to them. (LK)
