THE CREAM of Barbadian draughts will converge on the Barbados Bridge League in Belleville on Sunday for the 2017 National Draughts Championships, which start at 5:30 p.m.

As with the successful Henderson Layne Memorial Tournament a couple of months ago, grandmasters Ronald “Suki” King and Jack Francis lead the hunt, with Carson Farley and Colin Price among the top names entered.

Jeffrey “Socks” Clarke, former national champion Richard Grazette and Junior “Post” Walrond will also be in the fray.

Rawle “Schoolboy” Williams, who won the Lodge Road Members Masters Competition at the start of the year and placed third in the Henderson Layne event, is a noticeable absentee. (HH)
