THE CHIEF METEOROLOGIST at the Caribbean Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology says predictions are that this year’s hurricane season could be slightly more active than usual.
Kathy-Ann Caesar said while last month was relatively dry, June has seen a gradual increase in shower activity as waves start rolling off the African coast.
“This week has been a little bit more active than usual where we are seeing three waves, one of which has the potential to develop into a tropical storm,” she said.
However, she advised people not to get “too excited” because “we have these all the time but our caution is to watch and prepare”. (HLE)
