A NEW Touch Of Class Road Tennis queen will be crowned tonight at the Deighton “Pa” Roach Tennis Facility in Bush Hall.

Three-time champion Kim Holder was dumped from the semi-finals on Thursday night by the “Smiling Assassin” Sheldene Walrond 21-17, 21-18. Walrond, who has the record of beating Holder three times in the last two years, has now toppled the road tennis Amazon in successive tournaments.

Tonight Walrond will face last year’s losing finalist Abigail Haynes, who, prior to Walrond’s victories, was the last person to beat Holder and that was nearly a decade ago.

Haynes, who will relish the chance to face a different opponent in a road tennis finals, had outclassed Rachel Smith 21-18, 21-12 in their semis clash. (KB)
