THE NEWEST SIXTH FORM school in Barbados says it will be offering subjects catering the entrepreneurial-minded student.

Come September, the Alleyne School in St Andrew will be joining Christ Church Foundation, The St Michael School, St Leonard’s Boys, Alexandra School and Springer Memorial in the batch of new sixth form institutions.

But principal Julia Beckles said the 232 year-old school would not be competing with them, nor with the older sixth form schools of Queen’s College, Harrison College, the Lodge School and Combermere School.

“As a new entrant into the market, we knew we had to come with a niche. Our core, therefore, is going to be management of business and entrepreneurship,” she said yesterday, as her school joined the others for the Lester Vaughan PTA Sixth Form Fair, held at the St Michael School. (HLE)
