Call for parents and teachers to support children

PARENTS AND TEACHERS are being asked to give students more encouragement.

Both acting chief executive officer of Republic Bank, Sean Husain, and president of Sunjet Toastmasters Beverly Parris made the request during the finals of the seventh annual Republic Bank RightStart Primary Schools’ Speech Contest on Saturday.

During his address, Husain noted the decline in the number of schools participating.

“This year regrettably only 18 primary schools and 35 children participated, just about half of the number we had last year,” he said. (TG)
