Sonics hand Pine latest loss

THE WHEELS are falling right off the champs’ bus.

Orange 3 Pinelands are in a definite tailspin now, having dropped their latest result via Sunday’s disheartening 80-67 defeat to Urban Vybz St John’s Sonics in the Co-operators General Insurance Basketball Premier League at the Barbados Community College.

It was the fifth loss in the last nine games for the defending champs, who also needed overtime to overcome a lowly Hawks side whose two victories have come against the winless schoolboys.

And the manner in which the defeats have come is even more worrisome, as the Pine has given up at least 80 points in each of those five losses for an average of 87.8. (JM)
