Share post:

A PASSING TROPICAL WAVE with axis along 60W has been generating cloudy to overcast skies, moderate to heavy showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms across Barbados and the Windward Islands during the last few hours.

Reports indicate flash-flooding is occurring in some areas of the island and these conditions are likely to persist for at least another two to four hours.

As a result, a flood warning has been issued and will remain in effect until 6 p.m.

Additional rainfall accumulations of up two inches are possible.

Residents in flood prone areas should continue to exercise caution and remain on the alert.

A flood warning means that some flooding is already occurring or is likely to occur.

This warning will be up-dated as necessary.
