Barbados lose football opener to Dominica

BARBADOS suffered a 2-1 defeat against Dominica in the Windward Islands Football Tournament in Grenada tonight.

Playing at the Fond ground in the northern town of Sauteurs, Barbados conceded the opening goal when Julian Wade scored his second of the tournament.

But Barbados drew level through a strike from Rashad Jules four minutes before half time.

Dominica’s Kelrick Wade converted the winning goal seven minutes after the break.

Barbados failed to equalise despite having a numerical advantage in the closing stages when Dominica were reduced to ten men.

Barbados’ next match is against St Lucia on Sunday at the same venue.
