Fire leaves family homeless

A WOMAN AND her two children are without a roof over their heads after a fire destroyed their home at Cave Hill Drive, St Lucy today.

The blaze of unknown origin destroyed the two-bedroom wooden and wall house, and slightly damaged an unoccupied two-bedroom wooden house around 3:45 p.m.

The destroyed house was occupied by 31-year-old Shenika Hinds and her two children ages six years and ten months.

The other house received damage to the ceiling and sideboard.

Two fire tenders, and nine fire officers under the command of Divisional Officer Henderson Patrick responded to the blaze.

Police are investigating and are asking the public to provide any information about the incident to the District ‘E’ Police Station at 4191730, police emergency at telephone number 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477), or the nearest police station.
