THE FAIR TRADING COMMISSION (FTC) has made it clear that a final decision on the SOL proposed purchase of the Barbados National Terminal Company Limited (BNTCL) is yet to be made by the regulatory body.

Responding to a SUNDAY SUN back page story headlined SOL’s Bid Rejected, the quasi-judicial body said the findings represented its preliminary position only.

In a statement issued yesterday following the exclusive news report, the FTC said: “The applicants were required to respond to the Preliminary Findings Report by June 30, 2017, and have subsequently requested and been given additional time to submit their responses.

“The commission will analyse these responses before making its final determination on this matter, following which the applicants and the public will be notified.”

The FTC said its findings were issued only to the applicants. (GE)
