Robbed at gunpoint

YOU HEAR stories of robberies being committed and of people being robbed at gunpoint, but you never feel it will come to your front door.

For Vanda, it did.

With tears settled in her eyes, she recounted the scary details of that early Saturday morning in February when she came face to face with a masked gunman pointing a gun at her chest as she stood on the steps of her home.

What made the ordeal more traumatic was that her nine-year-old-son witnessed the robbery unfolding as he sat silently in the car parked in the garage.

It is a morning Vanda, who is in her 40s, would love to erase from memory, but can’t. (CM)
