IT MATTERS TO MARIA: 55 MTW units broken down
FIFTY-FIVE MAJOR PIECES of equipment used by the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) for road repairs are in the workshop at the Pine, St Michael.
This, according to sources, was the reason why roadworks were at a go-slow.
“There are 55 units down – trucks, bobcats, backhoes, rollers, excavators. We ain’t got nothing to work with; lack of equipment is a problem,” one official said, adding that the lone paver, a barber green machine, was also out of order.
“The roads getting done but the barber green machine break down, so paving is going to be an issue,” he added. (MB)
