Pinelands blast Lady Cavs

THAT’S ONE EMPHATIC message the champs just sent to the rest of the league.

Preferred Insurance Brokers Pinelands are still unbeaten, having held Station Hill to just nine third-quarter points in Sunday’s 79-61 statement win in the No.1 Beauty Supplies and Beauty Exchange Women’s Basketball League at the Barbados Community College.

It was the fourth win in as many games for the reigning queens, who were expected to face their first challenge for the season against the former 12-time league champs.

And the matchup seemed to live up to its big billing early on, with the lady Cavs taking an encouraging 37-34 half-time lead. (JM)
